So here is a bit about Jill Myles!
Jill Myles has been an incurable romantic since childhood. She reads all the ‘naughty parts’ of books first, looks for a dirty joke in just about everything, and thinks to this day that the Little House on the Prairie books should have been steamier.
After devouring hundreds of paperback romances, mythology books, and archaeological tomes, she decided to write a few books of her own – stories with a wild adventure, sharp banter, and lots of super-sexy situations. She prefers her heroes alpha and half-dressed, her heroines witty, and she loves nothing more than watching them overcome adversity to fall into bed together. She wasn’t born with a pen in her hand, like most writers. Jill did stick the occasional crayon up her nose, but she eventually grew out of that.
Mostly.
So...we are going to head right on into the interview!
(BBB): Tell us a bit about your 'Succubus Diaries' series.
(JM): It's the story of a normal, somewhat boring woman who gets turned into a succubus by a vampire bite and angel sex. What a way to go, right? Now that she's a sexy immortal, she's trying to get the hang of the new world she finds herself in, and the attention of two very different, very sexy men.
(BBB): Do you prefer Serim or Vamps?
(JM): It depends on which character I'm writing about at the moment. When I'm writing scenes with Noah, I like him best. When I'm writing scenes with Zane, I like him best. I can't pick!
(BBB): Are you anything like Jackie?
(JM): I don't know if I'm like her as much as I wrote her as someone I can relate to. She's kind of wimpy. She's a complainer. She likes junk food. She has a hard time trying handle the attention of men. We both really like art and Egyptology, so we do have that in common. :)
(BBB): Do you have any writing rituals?
(JM): I can't listen to music - it's too distracting! I have to basically sit down and read the last few pages that I wrote in order to remember where I was going. Then I open a page and just start writing to pour out my thoughts. Too many pauses and I lose where I was going. I'm easily distracted.
(BBB): Are you currently working on anything else, can you share anything?
(JM): Right now I'm writing Book 3! It deals with the implications of some of the plot that happens in book 2, so I can't share too much about it. But I will say that there is a trial and Jackie is found guilty. And a vampire ball. Book 3 doesn't come out until 2011, and I also have another series that comes out in 2011 as well. It's about a human girl that works at a dating agency for paranormal creatures.
(BBB): Who are some of you favorite authors and books? Do you like the BDB?...cause your book sits up there with BDB which is the highest in my honest opinon. I LOVE IT. *sorry...had to put that in, cause its true*
(JM): Well, that is A-OK with me! I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood! :) Thank you! My favorite authors are Kresley Cole, Meljean Brook (LOVE her books if you love sexy angels), Ilona Andrews, and I've recently started reading Larissa Ione's Demonica series. She's terrific!
(BBB): Do you have a set plan schemed up for 'Succubus Diaries', how many books? etc.
(JM): I don't have a 100% set plan. I know where I want the series to go, and where I want it to end, but there's wiggle room in the middle. Book 3 will bring about a bit of closure and 'wrap' to the first 3 books in the series, but it's definitely not an end to the adventure. And we'll see how it goes from there!
(BBB): Do you plan on introducing even more mythilogical creatures? faeries, dragons...anything else?
(JM): Since the books are told from Jackie's eyes, each book adds new layers to the mythos, because we're learning it as she is learning it. In book 2, Jackie meets her first demon. In book 3, there's another type of creature introduced (a cambion). I do want to keep to the angel/demon mythos because there are so many different angles to play with. So right now, no plans for faeries and dragons! Just more angels, demons, and everything in between. :)
(BBB): Why did you go Vamps vs. Angels?...its a new spin as opposed to the Vamps vs Werewolves that we have seen so much of these days.
(JM): I've just always been in love with the stories about angels. When it came time to write my own books, it seemed natural to go in that direction.
(BBB): Whats you favorite food?
(JM): Cream cheese. Does that make me weird?
Thank you so much for allowing me to interview you. Now get back to writing I need book 3 yesterday ;)

Hi Jill, I often have a hard time saying goodbye to characters from a good book and often think about them long after I've finished a book. Do you think about your characters after finishing a book? Do you continue their story, one that never gets put down on paper?

Nice interview. Like jill when reading romance novels I always read the first few chapters and then skip to the 'naughty bits' too.
