Synopsis: At the age of nineteen, Seth Sileski had everything. A superb athlete and scholar, handsome and popular, he was the pride of Thunder Point. Destined for greatness, he lost it all in a terrible accident that put an end to his professional football career when it had barely begun. The people in his hometown have never forgotten what might have been.
Seth has come to terms with the turns his life has taken. But now he's been presented with an opportunity to return home and show his father—and the people of Thunder Point—he's become a better, humbler version of his former self.
Winning over his father isn't the only challenge. Seth must also find a way to convince his childhood neighbor and best friend, Iris McKinley, to forgive him for breaking her heart. With his homecoming, will Seth be able to convince the town, his family and especially Iris that he's finally ready to be the man who will make them all proud?
Series: Thunder Point Series
Review: THE HOMECOMING is one of my favorite Thunder Point novels. It moves away from some of our favorite characters and introduces us to Seth Sileski and Iris McKinley. Former best friends, they grew apart when Seth broke Iris’ heart. Iris is a guidance counselor at the Thunder Point high school and Seth is a police officer, recently returned to Thunder Point. Seth is no longer the same dumb and reckless teenager he was when he left Thunder Point. He’s gone through a lot, which has matured him greatly and he wants everyone to see the difference. Iris isn’t so sure about Seth and is quite busy trying to find out what is happening to one of her students. While I agreed with Iris’ reasons for being so angry at Seth, it was hard for Seth to understand as he had no clue what he did wrong. While the main characters weren’t any of the ‘regulars’, the regulars are an integral part of the town and had their own appearances. THE HOMECOMING dealt with topical issues which made sense within the theme of the story. A well-written story, with characters who fit the Thunder Point mold, THE HOMECOMING is a marvelous addition to this series!
