Synopsis: When Dallas resident Callie Taylor died young, she expected to go to Heaven, or maybe Hell. Instead, she met her fate early thanks to a creep with a knife and a mommy complex. Now she's witnessed another murder, and she's not about to let this one go. She's determined to help solve it before an innocent man goes to prison. And to answer the biggest question of all: why the hell did she wake up in Alabama?

Review: Callie Taylor of Dallas, Texas was murdered and woke up dead in Abramsville, Alabama. Why? Callie has no idea, but she can’t leave the town limits. One night when Callie was spending time watching TV at Rick and Molly McClatchey’s house, she sees Molly McClatchey murdered by a masked man. Now instead of hanging out with live people who are not sensitive to her presence, she’s got to find someone who can see her and help her solve the mystery of Molly’s murder. She finds Ashara, Maw-Maw and Stephen and convinces them to help her prove Rick McClatchey’s innocence. WAKING UP DEAD is a great mystery with unique characters. I loved how the focus is more on the mystery and the characters than the paranormal. The mystery itself is intricate and spans multiple generations. WAKING UP DEAD is well-crafted, ingenious, and I can’t wait to read Callie’s next adventure!
