Synopsis: Fire meets ice. Love meets hate.
Seventeen-year-old Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, nine weeks, and five days, and after what happened last time, she intends to keep it that way. Since then she’s lost eighty-five pounds, gotten four streaks of purple in her hair, and moved to the Buttcrack-of-Nowhere Ohio to help her mom escape a bad relationship.
All the girls in her new school want one thing – Jack Hunter, the Ice Prince of East Summit High. Hot as an Armani ad, smart enough to get into Yale, and colder than the Arctic, Jack Hunter’s never gone out with anyone. Sure, people have seen him downtown with beautiful women, but he’s never given high school girls the time of day. Until Isis punches him in the face.
Jack’s met his match. Suddenly everything is a game.
The goal: Make the other beg for mercy.
The game board: East Summit High.
The reward: Something neither of them expected.
Review: Isis Blake has changed the way she looks, but can’t change the way she feels. She never wants to fall in love again. After her first (and only) “boyfriend’, Isis is done with relationships and love. She cares for her friend, Kayla, and her mother. Isis and her mother moved to Ohio to escape her mother’s abusive ex-boyfriend. When Isis and Kayla were at a party, Isis sees a guy being very rude to Kayla and she goes on the warpath. Jack Hunter is known as the Ice Prince, having and wanting no close friends, and is now Isis’ nemesis. Their war may teach them more than either of them ever imagined.
I loved Isis! I loved her fire, passion, and the vulnerability underneath her prickly exterior. Jack is also broken, but has become cold instead. Both of their pasts have changed them fundamentally, taught them how to read people, and exploit their weak points if necessary. Yet in trying to maintain their armors while fighting this war has opened them up to each other and that’s where the magic happens. LOVELY VICIOUS is a story which will surprise you. You may not like the characters at first, but they’ll definitely grow on you as the story progresses. The ending left me speechless and clambering for the next book. Read LOVELY VICIOUS…you won’t regret it!
