Synopsis: Every story has two sides...
Alastor truly believed that his life was over the night his wife Becca shot and killed him over a century ago, but now he has returned as a spirit to haunt the reincarnation of his traitorous, murdering wife. Why now? Why Becca after all this time?
When Becca moves into her ancestral home in Corydon, Indiana, her life takes a puzzling and thrilling turn when she meets the ghost haunting the halls. As the seductive spirit lures her closer and closer, she learns about her own past and starts to understand that some mistakes are meant to last.
To Becca, Alastor is a seductive spirit that seems to see straight into her soul. To Alastor, Becca is what he has waited a century for--A second chance. But a second chance at what? Love...Or revenge?
How far will each of them go to rectify the wrongs of the past?
Interview: Q. Please tell us about the inspiration for your current release.
This is actually a retelling of my popular Spiritus Series, but this time it is told from Alastor’s point of view. The original inspiration came from Corydon Indiana itself, I would drive past these beautiful old houses and wonder about the people that used to live there. Bit by bit I got the idea of a ghost coming back to haunt what he thought was his reincarnated wife, but then I decided to shake it up more and make his wife into his murderer.
Q. How did writing this book affect you?
I’ve always been on the dark and creepy side, but I do have to say that anytime I give my book’s “elevator pitch” to someone, I get this look like I just ate their cat or something. I end up walking around all the time like R from Warm Bodies...”Don’t be creepy...Don’t be creepy”. My daughter tells me all the time to knock it off because I’m freaking out the normal people.
Q. What is the hardest part of writing for you?
I tend to write in spurts and often I go on these marathon sessions. Since I always write everything out longhand first, I end up with these twisted stubs for hands. With this book, I was actually finishing up another book when conversations between Becca and Alastor kept crossing my mind. I used to joke on Facebook that my characters wouldn’t shut up.
Q. Do you plan any subsequent books?
Not for this series. This series has already had three books from Becca’s point of view and now this one in Alastor’s. I don’t think there is that much more I could do with it. I’m starting research on a book with a witchcraft plot.
Q. What are you currently reading?
I am actually re-reading some Anne Rice novels. I love her work and never get tired of it.
Q. Please tell us your latest news (book-related or not!).
I’ll actually be in dance mom mode for the next few months. My daughter is a competitive dancer and now it’s my turn to cheer her on....I’ll probably sneak and take my notebook with me to every competition though.
Q. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
First off, just a huge thanks for reading. Poor Alastor has always been a character that people either loved or hated and I so want this book to shed some light on what he went through. Maybe he’ll pick up a few more fans who will see him like I always have.
