Synopsis: The first installment in a sexy new paranormal romance series by Larissa Ione, author of the bestselling Demonica series!
A WOMAN OUT FOR BLOOD: Nicole Martin was only eight years old when the vampire slaves rose up in rebellion and killed her family. Now she devotes her life to finding a vaccine against vampirism, hoping to wipe out her memories—along with every bloodsucker on the planet. But there’s one thing she cannot destroy: her searing, undeniable attraction for the one man she should hate and fear the most...
A VAMPIRE OUT FOR REVENGE: A member of the renegade vampire MoonBound Clan, Riker is haunted by demons of his own. When he recognizes Nicole and remembers how her family enslaved his loved ones, his heart burns for vengeance. But when he kidnaps Nicole and holds her in a secret lair, his mortal enemy becomes his soul obsession, his greatest temptation, and, perhaps, his only salvation—a hot-blooded lover who could heal him with her touch . . . or bury him forever.
Review: ‘Bound by Night’ is the first book in Ms. Ione’s The Moonbound Clan Vampires series. I hadn’t read any of Ms. Ione’s other novels, but I was intrigued by ‘Bound by Night’. Nicole Martin’s family company has been at the forefront of vampire research since they were first discovered. People own vampires as slaves (which doesn’t seem too smart to me) and when Nicole was little, there was a slave rebellion which killed all of her family, except for a half-brother. Nicole was viciously attacked and now lives with a disease kept under control by medication. Riker, of The Moonbound Clan, was the lover of Nicole’s nanny who was murdered during the rebellion. Now Riker has kidnapped Nicole, but he finds his thirst for revenge has turned into something else, something even more dangerous to them both. As this is the first book in a new series, ‘Bound by Night’ is not only introducing us to the characters and their storyline, but building the world as well. Therefore, it can come across a little bit choppy, but I think everything will smooth out once the series gets going. NOTE: There is also some disturbing material which is only intended for mature audiences - please be advised. I was definitely intrigued by the world Ms. Ione began to build in ‘Bound by Night’ and I look forward to the next book in the series!
