Synopsis: The Hunt is On! When strength becomes weakness... And hope becomes doubt... As the past collides with the future...hard... Can Suzanne-Wild Hunt biker chick and one-time member of the fae High Court-stand strong as her world falls apart? She survived an assault by redcaps, an all-out battle with the High King's armies, and her first encounter with roller derby... but how will she fare against her inner demons? Caught in the midst of a transformation she scarcely realizes and does not understand, her hard-won convictions are tested as never before. Suzanne is left with only one question-what if they're wrong? The truth could mean the difference between saving her sanity and losing her soul...
Review: Suzanne is still recovering from her attack by redcaps and she is working on overcoming her PTSD. When she sets up a paintball game with the members of the Wild Hunt MC, she runs across the same pack of redcaps who had hurt her before. Yet this time she kills them all and takes a souvenir. While Suzanne is struggling with the effect of her new transformation, Lance is dealing with threats from the dark fae. A rift is growing between them and they may lose each other for good…
Ms. Ackley-McPhail has come back again to the Wild Hunt MC and the focus of ‘The Redcaps’ Queen’ is Suzanne, a fae who escaped from a unwanted marriage. Suzanne found love with Lance, the leader of the Wild Hunt MC. This MC is a mix of both mundane and magical people, characters which the author has brought to life stunningly. I was able to palpably feel the emotions of Suzanne and Lance. I also loved the integration of the roller derby dames into their circle of friends and Suzanne's joining one of the teams.
