Synopsis: Centuries ago, Meryn was thought to be utterly lost--all traces of his soul given up to the ravening goblin horde. But with the curse that enslaved him now broken, he must once again learn to walk in the realm of men.
Nurse Nadine Gilbert likes working the night shift to avoid her disturbing dreams, but her mysterious new patient looks hauntingly familiar. Meryn knows he doesn't deserve a second chance, but Nadine brings out his long-buried human side. Telling her the truth about his violent past could destroy their fragile trust. Could she ever believe in the love of a Goblin Warrior?
Review: Meryn was a warrior who was cursed along with his king and for the past 2,000 years he lived as a Goblin with only his lust for gold as company. Now he’s back from the Shadowlands and he’s human once more. He ends up in the hospital and meets a woman who may be his only salvation. Can he protect her from her fears and overcome his previous life, too?
I had not read any of the previous Shadowlands series novels, but after reading ‘For the Love of a Goblin Warrior’ I know I didn’t need to. This book stands very well on its own and you are given the entire back story on the characters you need to understand and enjoy it. I also felt Meryn and Nadine’s story would have worked even without a paranormal element involved. ‘For the Love of a Goblin Warrior’ was a sweet and touching romance between two people who needed to heal their hearts and learn to be open again. If you’re looking for lots of overt magic and epic battles, you might want to read one of the other books in this series. If you’re looking for a tender and heartfelt story with characters who need healing, hope, and love, than ‘For the Love of a Goblin Warrior’ is just the book for you.
