Synopsis: Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux wakes from a year-long coma to find that she has become an angel-and that her lover, the stunningly dangerous archangel Raphael, likes having her under his control. But almost immediately, Raphael must ready Elena for a flight to Beijing, to attend a ball thrown by the archangel Lijuan. Ancient and without conscience, Lijuan's power lies with the dead. And she has organized the most perfect and most vicious of welcomes for Elena...

Review: This is another of those books I read months ago that I am trying to recall as I write. I was very intrigued and excited by Elena's transformation.

This book is darker and more violent than the first book in this series and Ms. Singh pulls it off perfectly. The characters have just a hint of the forbidden which makes the book even better. I loved the setting and meeting all the other angel's as well.

The violence in this book is stepped up as is the sensuality. There are wonderful fight scenes and even better sex scenes through out the book. I loved seeing Elena and Raphael's relationship deepen and loved seeing Elena endear herself to her new people. I still hate the crazy female Archangel.
