Synopsis: Ethan Wate thought he was getting used to the strange, impossible events happening in Gatlin, his small Southern town. But now that Ethan and Lena have returned home, strange and impossible have taken on new meanings. Swarms of locusts, record-breaking heat, and devastating storms ravage Gatlin as Ethan and Lena struggle to understand the impact of Lena's Claiming. Even Lena's family of powerful Supernaturals is affected - and their abilities begin to dangerously misfire. As time passes, one question becomes clear: What - or who - will need to be sacrificed to save Gatlin?

For Ethan, the chaos is a frightening but welcome distraction. He's being haunted in his dreams again, but this time it isn't by Lena - and whatever is haunting him is following him out of his dreams and into his everyday life. Even worse, Ethan is gradually losing pieces of himself - forgetting names, phone numbers, even memories. He doesn't know why, and most days he's too afraid to ask.

Sometimes there isn't just one answer or one choice. Sometimes there's no going back. And this time there won't be a happy ending.

Review: Now that Lena's Claimed herself and split the moon, both the Mortal and Caster worlds are breaking apart. Everyone is changing around Ethan as is Ethan himself. He's losing pieces of himself and he needs to discover where they're going and how to get them back. But will the only option be one that the people of Gatlin can live with?

Beautiful Chaos is, for me, definitely the darkest of the series so far. However, it fits the direction that the story went in the first two books. While there was still action in this book, I felt the character development grew by leaps and bounds. This was especially crucial as the world was being turned upside down for everyone and it helped give time to re-evaluate themselves. Beautiful Chaos is an emotional and uncertain read with the narrator, Ethan, losing himself while trying to always be there for everyone he cares about. Now I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the series!

Caster Chronicles Series: Beautiful Creatures (1), Beautiful Darkness (2), Dream Dark (2.5), Beautiful Chaos (3), Beautiful Redemption (4)
