Synopsis: The old gods have a new weapon. Don't mess with her.

Nikki Glass can track down any man. But when her latest client turns out to be a true descendant of Hades, Nikki now discovers she can’t die. . . . Crazy as it sounds, Nikki’s manhunting skills are literally god-given. She’s a living, breathing descendant of Artemis who has stepped right into a trap set by the children of the gods. Nikki’s new “friends” include a descendant of Eros, who uses sex as a weapon; a descendant of Loki, whose tricks are no laughing matter; and a half-mad descendant of Kali, who thinks she’s a spy. But most powerful of all are the Olympians, a rival clan of immortals seeking to destroy all Descendants who refuse to bow down to them. In the eternal battle of good god/bad god, Nikki would make a divine weapon. But if they think she’ll surrender without a fight, the gods must be crazy....

Review: Ms. Black has done it again! Dark Descendant is wicked sweet! To me it felt like a cross between Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series and Vicki Pettersson's Sign of the Zodiac series with a twist! I absolutely loved this book! Nikki Glass is a descendant of Artemis, one of the very few in existence - possibly the only one left. Which makes her very highly sought after by both factions of Descendants. It also means she can track anyone down and her marksmanship is perfect (definitely the attributes of a descendant of a great huntress!). Nikki's got a lot of learning to do, but I know she'll truly grow into her destiny. The world Ms. Black has created is multi-faceted and layered and the characters are the kind you'll love or hate (no gray areas here!). I cannot wait for the next book!

Nikki Glass series: Dark Descendant (1), Deadly Descendant (2)

  1. I've had this book on my radar for a while. it does sound really good. Thanks for the review =)

  2. I really enjoyed this one as well! I'll have to check out the Vikki Peterson series..thanks for mentioning it :)

  3. This is definitely going on my tbr list just because of the cover. That cover is awesome! ;)

  4. I want this book so bad. I'm a huge fan of her Morgan Kingsley series and the setting itself sounds very fascinating.
And like the Zodiac novels? Yes *pumps fists*
