Synopsis: Just when she thought she had life and love all figured out...
Divorce attorney Harper James can't catch a break. Bad enough that she runs into her ex-hubby, Nick, at her sister's destination wedding, but now, by a cruel twist of fate, she's being forced to make a cross-country road trip with him. And her almost-fiance back home is not likely to be sympathetic.
Harper can't help that Nick has come blazing back into her life in all of his frustratingly appealing, gorgeous architect glory. But in Nick's eyes, Harper's always been the one. If they can only get it right this time, forever might be waiting - just around the bend.
Review: I found My One and Only to be a laugh out loud funny and grab-the-tissues heartbreaking at the same time. Harper no longer believes in the spontaneity of love - she's more into lists and agreements these days as a top-earning divorce lawyer. She's got a boyfriend, years after she and her husband - and once love of her life - divorced, but he's a bit one-note and shallow (along with every other word being "Dude"). Nick, on the other hand, has it all...looks, personality, charisma, and focus. As their impromptu road trip carries them across the country together, we find out the whole back story of what really happened to Nick and Harper and what split them apart. Aside from the overuse of the word "crotch" (as replacement for a more indelicate swear word) and a bit one-dimensionality of some of the characters, I did enjoy My One and Only. It's not the type of romance I usually read, but if you need a good, sweet, and funny book to take you away for a while, pick up My One and Only!
