When Clara Gardner learns she's part angel, her entire life changes. She understands now why she's smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her, but she also has a purpose, a specific task she was put on this earth to accomplish - one that reveals itself in piece and involves a mysterious boy, a deadly fire, and a crushing grief. Confused by her impending future, Clara tries to find her way in a world filled with unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make.

In this debut novel, the first in a trilogy, readers will be entranced by Clara, the two boys who capture her attention, and the unique angel world she's discovering.

Review: Clara’s an angel – well, she’s only a quarter-angel, but she’s coming into her angelic powers. Powers which include visions and the overwhelming need to fulfill her angelic purpose. When she meets the person she has seen in her visions, the boy she’s meant to save, she is torn between her angelic duties and her feelings. Is there really such a thing as fate or are we able to make our own way in life? Follow Clara as she struggles to answer this question.

I enjoyed Clara’s story very much and especially liked that it was told as a first-person narrative. I felt that it kept you guessing as you only discovered what was happening through Clara’s eyes. I also felt it was an accurate portrayal of the world – nothing is set in black and white…just as in reality, there are a lot of grey areas and not everyone is as they seem.
