Dr. Liliana Carrera nearly lost her life to Wardwell scientists. She won't let them harm other innocent victims, like her new patient, Jesse Bradford. The former pro athlete had the best hands in the NFL . . . until an injury forced him to undergo Wardwell's experimental gene therapy. Now Jesse's gorgeous body is superhuman-but his strength comes at a price.
With Wardwell threatening his family, Jesse can't tell Liliana all he knows. Yet he can't resist her compassion . . . or her healing, erotic touch. As their passion flares, Jesse's body becomes dangerous and volatile. For evil men are plotting to change the face of humanity-and will destroy whoever stands in their way.
This book starts out much smoother than the first book in this series, which is a good thing. I can clearly see and feel the development of Ms. Pineiro's writing and the story itself. This book, like so many others, is all about the characters. The immense amount of effort into each character, obviously focusing on Liliana and Jesse in this book, is just amazing. Ms. Pineiro takes character development to a whole other level in this book, and I love it.
There are some patches of vocabulary about genetics and diseases and all that fun stuff here and there throughout the pages; Caridad Pineiro does a wonderful job of making the patches understandable as much as possible for the normal reader. Shows me she loves her work enough to research and understand what is going on in order to write it so a normal person can understand, and it is appreciated. There is a lot of interweaving from the first book into the second, so it is highly recommended that you take a peek at 'Sins of the Flesh' before you jump into 'Stronger that Sin' so as to not be lost.
I enjoyed the plot and the entire story with the exception of the ending. I found that it was a tad predictable. I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong, but I saw it coming a mile away and I do like to be surprised every once in awhile. There is also great romantic tension and build up between the two main characters, I enjoyed that immensely. Ms. Pineiro has a unique writing style and voice, something that is new and fresh, I highly recommend you pick up this book and let it sweep you away.
