Torment (Fallen)Publisher: Delacorte Books for Young Readers
Publish Date: 28 September 2010
Origins: Publisher for Review
Format: Paperback
Series: Fallen Series: Fallen (1), Torment (2).

Lucinda is sure that she and Daniel are meant to be together forever. Now they are forced apart in a desperate bid to save Luce from the Outcasts–immortals who want her dead. As she discovers more about her past lives, Luce starts to suspect that Daniel is hiding something. What if he has lied to her about their shared past? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?

This book sadly was a DNF for me. I read the last one and had a 'so, so' response...this one just made me want to throw it. I just couldn't get into felt like the same clouded in mystery feeling as the last book...also I think Luce is getting whinier...and I didn't like that. As always the covers are gorgeous...I wish I could have liked it more!

  1. The first book, Fallen was also a fail for me. I found it so ho hum let's be like Twilight, but I'll put enough of a spin on the story that it's really not.

  2. I had the same problem with the first book. It wasn't bad per se, but there was nothing all that impressive about Fallen. I had wondered if Torment would be worth the time, but I'm thinking -- like you -- I'd end up DNF on this one.

(But those covers really are stunning.)

  3. So sorry to see this one wasn't for you. I had some problems with the first one, but I was holding out hope this one might improve on it:(

I'm popping in via the follow this week, congrats on being the feature! I'm a new follower and I look forward to reading more of your reviews, we seem to have similar tastes!

  4. That's sad to hear I can't say much cause I have yet to read either. So I guess I'll be reading it sometime to find out. Congrats on being the feature. :) Enjoy your soon to be weekend.

  5. I thinking I am going to skip this one for now. It doesn't sound like it improve at all.

Found you through follow Friday. Congrats on be picked. I am a new follower :)

  6. I'm going to have to agree with you that Fallen is sort of a 'so-so'. The beautiful cover seized my attention, but the story was lacking in twists and, well, everything that makes a good story, unfortunately. I'm a new follower-- congrats on being FF's featured blogger. :)

  7. I haven't had any desire to pick up this book and read it. I love the cover but have heard mixed reviews with this book.

    Congrats on being featured.

  8. This is actually the first time I heard some negative feelings towards Fallen. I've put off reading it because it sounded so much like Twilight, but now I won't be reading it... maybe someday, but not now :)

I'm your newest follower from Parajunkee's Follow Friday :D
I woukd greatly appreciate if you stopped by and followed back!
