The Mastermind is back, and he's about to destroy everything - and everyone - Alex Cross loves.

Wedding Bells Ring

Detective Alex Cross and Bree Stone's wedding plans are put on hold when Alex is called to the scene of the perfectly executed assassination of two of Washington, DC's most corrupt: a dirty congressman and an underhanded lobbyist. Next the elusive gunman begins picking off other crooked insiders, sparking a blaze of theories - is the marksman a hero or a vigilante?

A Murderer Returns

The case explodes, and the FBI assigns Agent Max Siegel to the investigation. As Alex and Siegel battle over jurisdiction, the murders continue. It becomes clear that the killings are the work of a professional who has detailed knowledge of his victims' movements - information that only a Washington insider could possess.

Caught In A Lethal Cross Fire

As Alex contends with the sniper, Siegel, and the wedding, he receives a call from his deadliest adversary, Kyle Craig. The Mastermind is in DC and will not relent until he has eliminated Cross and his family for good. With a supercharged blend of action, deception, and suspense.

Review: Alex Cross has decided to settle down with Bree Stone for good - he's proposed marriage and she's accepted. However, there is a more pressing matter - a sniper is going for the one-shot kill on corruption by taking out dirty politicians and lobbyists. The killer is trained, deadly, and disappears with the wind. On top of dealing with a high-profile politically charged serial killing case, Alex has been receiving calls from Kyle Craig - the Mastermind -  again and this time Kyle's going for the endgame. Alex is on his toes and watching his back as he races to solve two mysteries - who is the sniper and when is Kyle coming to get him and his family.

Keep hold of your seat as you're caught up in the fast-paced adventure along with Alex as he has to work against the clock to figure out who is killing famous and infamous politicos and high-rollers. Mix in Alex's nemesis, Kyle Craig, a marriage proposal, and an unexpected visit from someone he thought long out of his life and Alex has his hands more than full. The twists and turns will keep you guessing what will happen next and you'll never believe how it all ends. Lives are lost, people Alex loves are in serious danger, and everyone is afraid that they're going to be next on the sniper's list. This is another great and addicting tale of murder and mayhem - Alex Cross style! I was hard pressed to put it down!

  1. I've given up keeping track of Patterson's books. One prolific writer.

  2. Love most of his books but he is slipping up on important details such as in Crossfire why would his wife think to use hair spray if she had no warning. Wish he wouldn't co-=author and just write take time to write his own instead of being an assembly line.
