As I am sure you all can tell but I don't do many IMM...I just don't have time and I forget what I get during the week sometimes...but I wanted to share the cool book that my hubs got me yesterday:

Sorry I don't know how to make the picture turn so...there is it...inside is all history and cool facts about EAP...and also has removable reproductions of some of his letters and

I am still in heaven just looking and playing with everything inside. I have loved EAP since I was 13...what is your favorite EAP story or poem?...mine. The Cask of Amontillado.

I also wanted to friend Meaghan and I decided we were going to declare Labor Day a gift giving holiday so we exchanged gifts with each one else even bothered to send anything, sheesh ;) This is what I got:

I was so excited because I love the UK editions of these books and...because I just love HP. Anyway, that is all, wanted to share some awesome book stuff :)

  1. They're both really pretty! I only have the UK edition of the 1st Harry Potter book because I found it at a Goodwill in awesome condition but it's so pretty and now I want a UK collection.

  2. Is the dialogue different in the UK versions of HP?

  3. Hmm I dont know I just like the UK covers. I love that they have seperate books for children and adults. I know they change some words for Americas like: que, boot, and pitch which is: line, trunk, and soccer field.

  4. Hmm, I'll have to hunt down a UK version of one of them then, I'd like to read one with the original slang/terms.

And yeah... I'm a bit envious of their having two covers for things... I made my local bookstore order me the Chris Riddell illustrated version of Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book... I was so annoyed they didn't offer it in the US... and I'm devastated by what they've done to the Monster Blood Tattoo US covers...
They've recovered them for the release of the third book... which means the really cool covers from my first two books won't match the third one. (Not to mention the first two had illustrations of the characters from the author on the cover, who is an EXCELLENT Illustrator... and the now they'll have landscapes.)

  5. That is awesome haul. Jealous over the Poe stuff. His poems are really only poetry that I adore reading, The Raven being the one that actually got me liking poetry. Even though everyone says they like that.

I've always said I wanted UK editions of the HP series - and I tell my hubby that every holiday, but he never listens, I guess it is too hard of a purchase. LOL

  6. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Edgar Allan Poe!!! The Black Cat is my favorite :) I am so jealous!!!

  7. I love the Edgar Allan Poe stuff, that is so cool :0 My favorite poem is the tale tell heart...still creeps me out every time I read it :)

  8. I love the EAP set. That's wicked awesome. Like having a piece of history at your fingertips.

As far as the UK version, I purchased a UK copy of Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I don't know all the differences, but I did notice it used metric measurements instead of standard. I imagine the US version would have used standard since that's what most people are used to seeing.

  9. Yeah, those reproductions in the Poe book are fun.

I have a particular fondness for "The Cask of Amontillado," because reading it was what first got me into researching and then later blogging about Poe, but my true favorite is probably "The Domain of Arnheim."

  10. That Poe book is gorgeous!!! And I love finding the UK editions of books...they feel so exotic!

  11. I do love UK editions of books...I have HP 1 and 2 in the UK edition. The first is great b/c the title is different. :)

YAY for the EAP book. So cool!

  12. I am drooling over that EAP book! Must have it!

  13. What is the name of Poe Book?

    Please email me over
    to tell me...
