Harriet Vanger, scion of one of Sweden's wealthiest families, disappeared over forty years ago. All these years later, her aged uncle continues to seek the truth. He hires Mikel Blomkvist, a crusading journalist recently trapped by a libel conviction, to investigate. He is aided by the pierced and tattooed punk prodigy Lisbeth Salander. Together they tap into a vein of unfathomable iniquity and astonishing corruption.

Review: This novel has a fast paced plot, with lots of twists and surprises, and is very deep and thought-provoking. You can trust no one and you’ll never see what’s coming next. I loved Lisbeth and she is unequivocally unique, plus Mikael, too, is interesting and deep. He's not your typical male journalist cum detective. Part of the beauty of the novel is that it’s told from both of their exquisitely different viewpoints.

Read slowly and savor every page! This is worth the time!

The Millennium Trilogy: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (1), The Girl Who Played With Fire (2), The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest (3)

  1. What did you think of the first 100-150 pages? Those really drug for me and made the book rough going at first.. then it seemed to go at breakneck speed until I finished.

  2. Like Lydia I had a difficult time with the exposition, but really enjoyed the book although I was correct with my guess about part of the ending, I was surprised with another aspect of it.

  3. Thanks for the review. :) This books has been on my bookshelf for months. NEED TO READ!

  4. I really need to read this book. Never know about it before and hope that I would love it as you did!

  5. great review and I agree about savoring every page
