Sounds like an awesome idea! I'm in. :D
ReplyDeleteWish I could. I'm traveling that weekend. I'm sure I'll be reading at some point and I'll be thinking of you!!
ReplyDeleteThis is EXACTLY what I need. I"m in and will email you on donations!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to participate. I keep saying that I want to do a read-a-thon, and this is the perfect opportunity, because I'll have to go back to work with a vengeance, once Sept. starts.
ReplyDeleteSounds fun!
ReplyDeleteI am totally in! Now I gotta think of some good books to read. :-) Maybe... Catching FIRE?! Oh oh and my copy of The Ask And The Answer is supposed to be in my hands by then. *sigh* I know what I will be doing today, making my potential readathon books list!
ReplyDeleteThat weekend is super busy for me but I'll try to get some extra reading in! And I'm sharing about this on my blog over the weekend so hopefully you'll get some additional participants. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I have several stacks of books at home that need to be read, but I keep getting more.
ReplyDeleteYes!!! this will help me end my summer on a great note! Awesome :)
ReplyDeleteI really think I might join you. I've never participated in a read-a-thon and was thinking about taking a break to do this personally. So great timing!
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo exciting! I've got a significant reading pile I'm plowing through, so I'll be joining you from Australia :-)
ReplyDeleteFun idea and this will really spur me to read some of the things that have been sitting on my bookshelves for too long
ReplyDeletewhat exactly does "your own books" mean? The ones we own? or just ones of our own choosing?
ReplyDeleteWell, I have plenty of my own books to read! It's hard to read on the weekends with all the stuff going on, but I think I'll sign up anyway and just do my best.
ReplyDeleteAwesome possum! I'm in need of clearing some room on my shelves!
ReplyDeleteI'm in!
ReplyDeleteI'm in! Will be busy and traveling on Sunday but hopefully in-between I will actually get some real reading done! Thanks for doing this.
ReplyDeleteHello, I'm italian and I'm new...can you explain me what is a read a thon? can I partecipate even if I'm italian? thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so fun! I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI SO needed something like this! Thanks Monica!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a plan! Will make a note in my diary to keep that weekend free. Mostly free.

This could not have come at a better time for me!! I am right now cataloging all of the books on my shelves so that I will know what I have. And because hubs says I can't buy any more books until I know what I already have. lol This is the push I need!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for a read - a - thon, I look forward to reading with you guys =o)
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect timing for a read-a-thon! School starts back up soon and I won't have as much time to read come September. Next weekend is pretty much open except for when my sis leaves for study abroad. So I'll be doing my reading around her goodbye (and hopefully reading away some of the tears from missing her so much!).
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect read-a-thon because you have to read your own books. A nice break from review books. Don't get me wrong...I love review books, but I have so many books of my own and so many challenges to complete. This is going to really help me out a lot. Thanks Monica for hosting!
ReplyDeleteSo I definitely thought that marathon was this weekend and started reading my marathon book (s). This makes me somewhat sad, as I got all the way through Catching Fire which was awesome, but I wish I read this during actual readathon because the wait for Mockingjay would be shorter. Oh well, you know I am def in!
ReplyDeleteI've never done a read-a-thon before, but this sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteI am always looking for incentive to read more! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lot of fun. :) And this will be my last weekend before going to college, so a Read-a-thon is exactly what would make it even better!

I'm so glad you are hosting this! I was hoping I'd find a read-a-thon for around this time, because I'm off school. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
Thanks for hosting this! I love read-a-thons!
ReplyDeleteI so majorly want to join in, but I don't know how my weekend will be! It's killing me!
ReplyDeleteSounds fun! I'm never done a read-a-thon before, so I hope I'll be able to read my little heart out this weekend. :D
ReplyDeleteCount me in! I'm forever trying to reduce the size of my TBR pile!
ReplyDeleteI figured I would join even if I have a huge amount of TBR sent to me...The ones I bought are aching to be read. ACHING.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the challenge! :D
I love this idea! I can't read that whole time unfortunately, but it does give me a push to read my Own-To-Read pile instead of the Rented-To-Read pile, which always seems to be read first.
ReplyDeleteWhere do we find the mini challenges now that we've started???
ReplyDeleteThat was fun. The readathon gave me several ideas for blog posts.
