Wow! Huge list! Great challenge. Oddly enough, though, I don't think I've even heard of most of those books! (Esp in the 2000s!)AllisonWell-Read Reviews
Have you heard of the 1% Well Read Challenge? That's where you tackle 10 books from this list each year, thereby becoming 1% Better Read each year. I've been doing it for the past 3 years and it is one of my very favorite challenges. I've read tons of great books from this list because of it. :)
Welcome - I started doing this challenge myself at the end of last year, and blogging about it only a few weeks ago.... Only 888 to go!!My blog's http://greatescapebookchallenge.blogspot.com if you fancy comparing notes!
Thanks for the encouragement everyone! You are all awesome.@Heather- I will check out that challenge@Caz- def going to check out your blog :)
This exhibits the true meaning of 'CHALLENGE' :D
This is a great challenge Monica! I can't wait to hear your thoughts as you meet it. Reading the list I've only read 6 of them. LOL I feel like a slacker now.
I've based many of my selections for the current year on the 1001 list as well. Have you considered how many you'll read in a given year, or are you still hammering out the details? I'll definitely keep an eye on your progress. Best of luck!
Wow this sounds pretty interesting. I think I might want to tackle this list as well. Maybe read one book a month from the list.
I saw that you were interested in the 1001 books list. There's a new version of the spreadsheet available if you're interested at http://johnandsheena.co.uk/books/?page_id=1806
I am currently undergoing this same challenge on my blog , though I am using the revised 2010 version of the book. I am estimating that I read on average 7-10 books a month so I'll finish around 100 books a year, thus taking me about a decade to finish the task. It's a huge undertaking, I'm only 14 books in, but I think it's a fun undertaking. Good luck to you on your journey, I'll be following it.
This is great! I was trying to do the math and its a hefty endeavor. Look forward to seeing your progress. I think I may follow your lead. Like someone here mentioned, deadline is death so... I may have some time. Thanks
Wow, I commend you on your bravery! I'm doing one-tenth of that, and I still feel like it's going to take forever. Also, you have a beautiful blog (maybe I'm a little shallow?). Good luck, and I'll be keeping an eye on here!
I've been doing the challenge for a little while now as well... its nice to know I'm not the only person out there whose decided to attempt it. How are you getting on? 974 left for me....Happy reading :)Btw my blog is http://lizzie-readingbycandlelight.blogspot.com/ if you fancy comparing/ recommending any of them to me!
Good luck with that! :) A few of those classics I remember reading in high school. Wish I'd been more interested in literature back then. At the time it was just a chore.
