Book Review: Shiver by: Maggie Stiefvater

Summary: For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

'Shiver' by Maggie Stiefvater is one the most beautiful books I have ever read. I read her faerie series and knew I had to check out this one as well. It was absolutely amazing. The characters are intense, brooding, and perfectly written. Grace and Sam are beautiful as characters alone and amazing together, there hasn't been a more perfectly conflicted, or so perfectly intense couple since Romeo and Juliet, in my opinion

This book has the usual conflict and plot as any other book would, but it is compelling in a completely different way than others. This book is not a thrill ride by any means; it is more like the wait before a birthday, you get more and more into the book and more excited as you get to the end and then you get the present you always wanted. There is an ingrained intensity with the whole book, right down to Mercy Falls itself. Everything about this book is amazing. You just have to read it to understand.
