Book Review: Heavenly by: Jennifer Laurens

Summary: I met someone who changed everything. Matthias. My autistic sister's guardian angel. Honest. Inspiring. Funny. Hot. And immortal. That was the problem. What could I do? I did what any other girl would do-I fell in love with him. Zoe's sister darts in front of cars. Her brother's a pothead. Her parents are so overwhelmed; they don't see Zoe lost in her broken life. Zoe escapes the only way she knows how: partying. Matthias, a guardian sent from Heaven, watches over Zoe's autistic sister. After Zoe is convinced he's legit, angel and lost girl come together in a love that changes destiny. But Heaven on Earth can't last forever.

This book was just OK in my opinion. That is the bottom line. There was nothing about it that set it out and pulled me in mind, heart, and soul. It was a fast read and the writing style was nice though. The characters were real and had real life struggles and problems, well, minus the angel of course. I just don't think this sort of fiction is my thing, so that may have a huge bearing on what I think of this book. I did like the fact that Zoe tried throughout the whole book just to help her family and make them better and happier, even if it meant sacrificing her own. She sends a good message and this book has a great theme. But...read it, and let me know what you think.

  2. I like the sound of the story but it's a shame it fell a little flat for you. I might check it out if I spot it at the library but I probably won't buy it as I have such a huge to read pile anyway lol

  4. I have this book and the second (Penitence) I thought they were great. It was not a story like any other young adult books. If you do not like books about angels, i will say then don't read it.
And just because someone did not like the book, it does not mean you do not have to read it. Just give it a try. it is a very good book.I loved it, and i am waiting for Absolution , the third book.
